Eva La Rue
as Natalia Boa Vista
Eva La Rue has won the hearts of both prime time and day time audiences with her natural charisma and animated personality. TV Guide referred to La Rue as "a movie queen ripe for the picking . . . Beneath her exotic, erotic exterior is a deeply touching star-spangled wholesomeness."
La Rue's television credits include a recurring guest starring role on NBC's "Third Watch". She plays Brooke, the wife of Eddie Cibrian's character, Jimmy Doherty. Eva was also in a recurring role on Showtime's hit series "Soul Food", and she dazzled us in her leading role as Carmen in the UPN sitcom "Head Over Heels".
She also starred in Danielle Steel's "Remembrance", an NBC movie of the week. Her dynamic portrayal of Dr. Maria Santos on the ABC daytime drama "All My Children" earned her both an Emmy nomination and an ALMA Award for 'Best Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama'. She then went on to play Annette Funicello in the highly rated CBS movie of the week "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes: The Annette Funicello Story".
She gained a great deal of recognition as the host of the "New Candid Camera" with Dom DeLuise, which led to hosting "The Miss America Pageant" with her "All My Children" husband and real life husband, John Callahan. Fans enjoyed the pair so much that La Rue and her husband went on to host the Lifetime special "Weddings of a Lifetime".
Her unique heritage (Puerto Rican, French and Dutch) may explain her cosmopolitan appeal. Although she currently resides in New York with her husband John, she is a California girl at heart. La Rue was born in Long Beach, California where she grew up with an even mix of dance, singing lessons and horseback riding. At the age of six, she won the "Little Miss California" pageant, then went on to win a contest that gave her the opportunity to sing at the White House for First Lady Nancy Reagan.
Eva's hobbies still include riding and showing horses, singing, dancing and softball. She is also a Green Belt in Tae Kwon Do. Currently, La Rue is taking some time off to renovate the couple's 100-year-old home and care for their daughter Kaya, who arrived early December 2001.
