I love this episode, contraversial and shockly heartless motives

Catherine's case is so awful, and I admire the strenght in Catherine in this one!!!

This must be my favorite episode. CSI must be the best written show on tv and one of the best lines is in this episode. Dr. Susan is being questioned by Grissom and she says something like, "most people think when they die they see a light and go to it,

Very nice episode. The organ eating stuff really creeps me out!

Several times, I have missed the name of the disease that Dr. Hilleredge has? Can anyone tell me?
Grissom says something like 'disease of the vampre" but what was the clinical name?
IloveCSI2 28 November 2004
The dieease is called Porphyria. I liked the episode because it tells about an unique disease though the storyline has many holes.
dsh1001 28 November 2004
I think that the disease was called Morpheria but I can't find any reference to that. Which king supposedly had it?
hatchapsout2000 27 January 2005
the name of the disease is prophyria for those who wants to know.I loved this episode very much.It reaches within that deep and secret part of where the line between human and animal separate us.

one of my faves... i knew all those suplements that DR. Hilleredge was talking about...lol she isn't that much of an extreme health nuttttt... I loved it. it just shows how much some people have no disregard to human life,BUT--thats mankind...

I was hurt & outraged by this episode! I have this rare disease porphyria. To say the facts were distorted here is an understatment! People with this disease do not eat liver or even drink blood; it breaks my heart and spirit that the writers of this show

i loved it cause it's controversial, like what do you do with the woman when she's freakin sick..? i loved when they showed what she would have looked like if she wasn't drinking blood :)
CSI-Ballistics 12 May 2005
The episode was good for the case with the woman and her odd "condition". Sortof real life vampirism which intrerested me but the other case with the little girl was upsetting.
James Corck 28 March 2005
The best chapter of the first season, I love the performance of Marg Helgenberger, and how she shows her emotions because of the little girl's death. Also, the story of the woman that eats humans is so twisted that I love it too. GREAT!!!!

i loved this episode and it is the best of catherine.....but who was that guy she kissed in end?
CSIK 03 April 2005
Great episode. The nutrionist girl is really crazy, and not normal. Catherine's case is interesting too, and the mother is so sick to have killed her own daughter.
erica05 01 June 2005
That nutritionist girl is disgusting! And she is so blase about the whole think. And once again Catherine is great! That girl's mother was really sick and pathetic.
NotGuilty 17 March 2006
Cath was out of line assuming that the dirtbag owner was guilty and going after him like a pitbull. I had no love for the guy but what if you had sosme cop coming after you for something you didn't do?
rps21 13 December 2005
just saw this one for the first time...who was catherine kissing at the end of the episode??
giany911 01 June 2007

mmm the guy who kissed cath at the end is brad johnson, but i didn't understand what was his role here... (i didn't see all the eps.)
sexy_griss 12 October 2006
The guy that Catherine kissed was the maintenance type guy in a previous episode when a house collapsed killing 3 elderly ladies, $35K O.B.O was the title.
forensics_hottie92 20 March 2007
this episode was one of my favorites because it was so different. and i'm really into nutrtion and science so it was really cool to see the transformation of the doctors face. but is was really gross. by the way the "disease of the vampire" is called porp
