"MIA/NYC - NonStop" -- When evidence at a murder investigation leads the CSIs to believe that the killer may be in New York City, Horatio takes his investigation to the Big Apple, Co-executive producer Danny Cannon directed the episode written by CSI: MIAMI's creators and Executive Producers Anthony E. Zuiker, Ann Donahue and Carol Mendelsohn.
Gary Sinise ("Forrest Gump"), Melina Kanakaredes ("Providence"), Vanessa Ferlito ("24"), Carmine Giovinazzo ("Black Hawk Down") and Hill Harper ("The Handler") guest star in the episode, which filmed on location in New York City. Horatio tracks the perpetrator of two brutal murders in Miami to New York City, only to discover that the man he thought was the suspect is found dead at another crime scene. The victim is identified as an undercover NYC police officer, prompting Horatio to join forces with Det. Mac Taylor (Sinise) and his team of forensic investigators who include Stella Bonasera (Kanakaredes), Aiden Burn (Ferlito), Danny Messer (Giovinazzo) and Dr. Sheldon Hawkes (Harper). "Blink" -- Detectives Taylor and Flack discover the body of a missing woman in Brooklyn Heights. When the team finds a second victim on a garbage barge, their investigation leads them to a serial killer who "imprisons" his victims, Deran Sarafian directed the episode written by one of the series' executive producers and co-creator Anthony E. Zuiker. Scenes were shot on location in New York. Grappling with memories of his own wife's death, Detective Taylor follows the killer's trail to a live victim -- a woman who cannot move, feel, or speak and can only communicate by blinking. The team must then work to piece together the evidence before the killer zeroes in on another victim.

"Creatures of the Night" -- When a woman is raped in Central Park, Stella's mission to find the attacker is hindered, as the victim has no memory of the assault, Tim Hunter directed the episode written by the series' co-executive producer Pam Veasey. Despite the abundant evidence at the crime scene, the detectives can't connect a suspect to the rape, frustrating Stella, who commits herself to nailing the attacker. Meanwhile, Mac and Aiden must track down an evidence-swallowing rat when they investigate the shooting murder of a drug dealer. After inspecting the body, Dr. Hawkes discovers that not only is the bullet missing, but that the victim has rat footprints and bites on his body. Now the team needs to find one rat in a city with 70 million of them in order to gather the evidence that will lead them to the murderer.

"American Dreamers" -- When a tourist discovers a skeleton on a Times Square double-decker tour bus, the CSIs must investigate whether the remains were left there as a practical joke or if the person was murdered, Rob Bailey directed the episode written by Eli Talbert, one of the series' producers. After closely examining the remains, Dr. Hawkes discovers that the victim was likely a Caucasian male teenager who died from a blow to the head more than 10 years ago. Their search leads them to a bus station and a missing boy who disappeared in 1987. The team must then piece together the clues to find out how the boy really died and who was to blame.

Meanwhile, Stella and Danny investigate the death of a fashion designer who was found in her penthouse pool. The case leads them to a sushi restaurant that specializes in food served on nude models. Regarded as one of music’s most successful entrepreneurs, Master P (born Percy Miller) has enjoyed national success as a best-selling hip-hop artist, actor, producer, director, professional basketball player (having played for the Toronto Raptors and the Charlotte Hornets) and clothing designer. His self-owned No Limit Records has sold more than 50 million albums. "A Man A Mile" -- Mac and Danny investigate the death of a construction worker who died 700 feet below Manhattan during an underground explosion, David Grossman directed the episode written by one of the series' executive producers Andrew Lipsitz. While investigating the death of Pete Riggs, the CSIs meet the "Sandhogs," a union of construction workers who build the city's underground tunnels. When Mac and Danny find an empty inhaler at the excavation site and the autopsy results reveal that Riggs died from asthmatic asphyxiation before the explosion, the team realizes that the victim was intentionally left underground. Meanwhile, Stella and Aiden examine the death of a 16-year-old who was found strangled and floating in a creek.

While filming in the city, the producers of the show and star Melina Kanakaredes were caught in a rain storm near Central Park. An unannounced police terrorist response drill allowed the producers to create new scenes and incorporate New York’s finest into the filming of the show.

"The Closer" -- When a Boston fan is found dead in a baseball stadium parking lot, the CSIs must investigate if he was the victim of a sports crime or if the murderer had deeper motives, Actor Emilio Estevez directed the episode written by the series' co-executive producer, Pam Veasey. The team examines the murder of an avid Boston fan found dead with a ruptured spleen following a tough loss against New York. Danny must put his baseball skills to the test to piece together the evidence as the CSIs try to find out how and why he was murdered. Meanwhile, after testifying in a murder trial, Mac is confronted by the defendant, Quinn Sullivan (guest star Michael Clarke Duncan), who questions the validity of the evidence. Mac is torn between trusting science or his desire to help a man facing jail time who swears he's innocent. Also, when a barely clad woman is killed by a truck early one morning, the team investigates why she was running through the streets and from whom. Michael Clarke Duncan is best known to audiences for his film roles in "The Green Mile," "Daredevil," "The Scorpion King," "The Whole Nine Yards," "Armageddon" and "Sin City," among others. "What You See Is What You See" – The tables are turned on Mac when a mystery man opens fire in his local diner and he becomes a witness in his own crime scene investigation, Duane Clark directed the episode written by Andrew Lipsitz, who is also one of the series' executive producers. Golden Globe Award nominee Penelope Ann Miller ("Carlito's Way") guest stars. While Mac dines at his local breakfast spot, a gunman opens fire, leaving a waitress critically injured and a man dead, and Mac having to choose whether to chase after the suspect or save the life of the young woman. Meanwhile, before the chaos, Mac was approached by a shy patron (guest star Penelope Ann Miller) who awkwardly engaged him in conversation. After feeling that he saved her life during the shoot out, she asks him to join her for a drink and Mac must decide if he is ready to start dating after his wife's tragic death. Penelope Ann Miller is best known to audiences for her film roles in "The Freshman," "The Relic," "Awakenings," "Along Came a Spider" and "Kindergarten Cop," among others. "Summer in the City" -- Mac and Dr. Hawkes investigate why an expert skyscraper climber plunged to his death while scaling the Empire State Building and the key to the case is the CSI's smallest witness ever -- a mosquito, David Von Ancken directed the episode written by Pam Veasey, who is also one of the series' executive producers. The CSI's offices have relocated to a Manhattan high rise which includes new labs, a staff break room and new office equipment with state-of-the-art technology. Also, after expressing his interest in moving out of the coroner's office, Dr. Hawkes joins the team in the field and his first case has him working with Mac on the death of a skyscraper climber. Although hundreds of witnesses were on hand to see the climber fall, the team suspects foul play and believes someone may have caused his death. Stella enlists the help of a sculptor to aid her with a facial reconstruction project that will help nab the suspect. Also, Aiden grows frustrated when she's unable to find evidence to finally send a repeat rapist to jail. And, the CSIs lose a member of the team.

"Corporate Warriors" -- When a man collapses and dies in the middle of the annual San Gennaro festival in Little Italy, the team must investigate how the victim ended up with a wood sliver in his heart, Rob Bailey directed the episode written by Andrew Lipsitz, one of the series' executive producers. The San Gennaro festival draws over one million revelers annually, making the site a tough crime scene to process. When Stella and Danny are called to investigate a murder at this site, the clues lead them to a pool hall destroyed in a brawl. Meanwhile, Mac and Lindsay investigate the murder of a CFO found decapitated on a bench in Central Park. The investigation leads them to a financial office where the executives practice martial arts competitively. Also, Dr. Hawkes and Det. Flack investigate a suspicious apartment fire that kills a 10-year-old chess champion.

"Dancing with the Fishes" -- Mac, Stella and Det. Flack investigate the death of a young dancer who seems to fall from the sky and crashes into a car near the Queensboro Bridge, John Peters directed the episode written by Eli Talbert, one of the series’ supervising producers. The team learns that the young dancer was enrolled in a famous dance school and her fellow competitors seem the most likely suspects. Meanwhile, when a local fish merchant’s body is found, Danny and Dr. Hawkes trace him back to the recently relocated Fulton Fish Market where they discover that he was impaled by a swordfish. Their investigation leads them to a high-priced Manhattan private school where parents will pay any price to get their children enrolled. Also, Lindsay examines the death of a Roosevelt Island Tram driver found dead on board by early morning commuters. Scenes from this episode with series stars Gary Sinise, Melina Kanakaredes and Eddie Cahill were filmed on location in New York City’s Herald Square.

"YoungBlood" -- After a wealthy middle-aged man is murdered in the elevator of his Park Avenue apartment building, the team must track the only witness to the crime who fled the scene, Steven DePaul directed the episode written by Timothy J. Lea, one of the series' supervising producers. After a wealthy man is shot at close range in an elevator just outside of his penthouse apartment, Mac and Det. Flack realize that a companion may have witnessed the murder. Their investigation leads Danny and Lindsay into the world of underage high school girls who disguise their age and revel in the Manhattan social scene in order to meet wealthy men. Meanwhile, Stella and Dr. Hawkes investigate the death of a seemingly well-off young man found in a Central Park lake who seems to have two identities.

After escaping capture in Miami, serial killer Henry Darius travels to New York with a college student as his hostage in order to steal millions from her family's vault. Upon arriving, Darius kills a group of students in cold blood and leaves clues specifically for Mac of his whereabouts. Meanwhile, while in NY to assist on a case, Horatio is served with a subpoena when the newly appointed DA names him a suspect in an old murder case.

Meanwhile, Danny and Sheldon investigate the death of a gifted writer who is found with the final chapter of his latest novel written on his entire body, leading them to believe that their suspect likely suffers from hypergraphia. Danny and Stella find innovative ways to process a crime scene while Danny is trapped in a panic room with the victim, who was the only person with the security code. As a locksmith works to cut through the titanium doors, the CSIs rush to process the evidence before the victim decays further and Danny's oxygen runs out. "Wasted" -- When a model coated only in body paint displaying a designer's spring swimsuit collapses on a runway during a fashion show, Mac, Danny and Dr. Hawkes investigate if her death was caused by the product that coated her, Jeff Thomas directed the episode written by Bill Haynes and Pam Veasey, one of the series' executive producers. Mark Steines ("Entertainment Tonight") guest stars as himself, who is on hand to cover the spring fashion show. Mac, Danny and Dr. Hawkes are puzzled by the death of a runway model and their case becomes even more complex when a second model is found dead in a cargo area staged outside of the fashion show. Meanwhile, a terminally ill patient walks into the precinct and confesses to the murder of his doctor. Stella, Det. Flack and Lindsay question the suspect's confession when they realize the doctor was moonlighting as an alternative healer.

"Risk" -- A college student is found dead on the subway tracks, the apparent victim of subway surfing, but evidence leads the team to believe other factors were involved, Rob Bailey directed the episode written by John Dove and Anthony E. Zuiker, one of the series' creators and executive producers. While riding the subway home, Danny sees a dead man on the tracks and stops the train before impact. Although the initial thought is that the college student died after subway surfing, Mac, Lindsay and Danny deduce foul play when they learn that he and a friend had been partying all over town leaving angry suspects behind. Meanwhile, when one of the most notorious commodities traders in the industry is found hanging outside his office window, Stella, Dr. Hawkes and Det. Flack are called to investigate. The apparent suicide is questioned when they learn the trader had one of the worst stock days in memory and a long list of clients with losses in the millions.

"Charge of This Post" -- The CSIs face their toughest challenge yet when a bomber uses random cell phone pages to detonate C-4 bombs across the city, and a member of the team fights for life when seriously injured during one of the explosions,, Rob Bailey directed the episode written by Timothy J. Lea, one of the series' supervising producers.
In a race against the clock, the team works with local agencies and government authorities to locate the bomber and narrow down the next trigger among the city's six million cell phones before he strikes again. Meanwhile, as Mac investigates a routine crime scene, he stumbles upon a bag containing C-4 explosives and is unable to evacuate the building quickly enough to get his team out of harms' way. While a CSI is rushed to surgery, Mac struggles with the memories of the last person he was unable to save, a fellow Marine killed during the 1983 Beirut barracks bombing.

The third season finds the team in search of new beginnings as Det. Flack comes back to the job after slowly recovering from his injuries and Mac secretly begins dating again after the death of his wife. He finds companionship in a co-worker, which presents a unique challenge as he tries
to figure out the professional and personal connotations of his private and public lives intersecting.
As Mac and Peyton tackle their first case together, they join Stella and Lindsay in investigating the death of a young man, where the only witnesses are bungee jumpers who were illegally plummeting off the Brooklyn Bridge when they found the dying victim. When an intruder breaks into the home of a deaf family and fatally shoots their teenage daughter, Mac works with the grieving mother who relies on her other senses to provide clues that will help catch her daughter's killer. Along the way she also provides assistance to Mac as he struggles in his relationship with Peyton. Meanwhile, Stella and Danny investigate when a professional ice skater is killed prior to competing in the U.S. ice skating regionals and whose body was found by her best friend, an Olympic skater who thinks she might be to blame for her death. 515 The Party Is Over
When the Deputy Mayor's dead body falls from the ceiling, along with hundreds of balloons, at a charity fundraiser, Stella and her date find themselves in the middle of the crime scene and Mac goes head to head with Robert Dunbrook (Craig T. Nelson).
This was a pretty good episode, for the most part. Stella seems to have a new boyfriend... maybe this one's a keeper. Craig T. Nelson is scheduled for two more episodes: He makes a good adversary for Mac. Their scenes together were great.
The economy figured into the storyline with the "blue flu" hitting the department. Flack stayed on the job, but Danny didn't. I know that somebody had to be the one to take a stand with the underpaid policemen, but it just didn't feel right the way that it was done. I just couldn't see Danny letting the team down, but that's the way it was written.
Melina Kanakaredes was great in this episode.
And Adam played a major role, but it definitely affected him.
CBS had NOTHING on this epi. sorry.
