The following was on MSNBC.com I'm sure it will be no surprise to some people...
MSNBC.com
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jorja Fox saying goodbye to ‘CSI’ Actress says she wants to do other things ‘before she gets too old’ The Associated Press Updated: 2:49 p.m. ET Oct 16, 2007 NEW YORK - Jorja Fox is waving goodbye to “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.”
Fox, 39, tells EW.com she has quit the Las Vegas-based forensics drama, saying she wants to explore other opportunities.
“There are all these things I want to do,” she said in a story posted Monday on the Web site. “Some are personal. Some are professional. And I really need to do some of them before I get too old.”
Fox has wrapped up filming on the hit CBS series, and will make her last appearance as Sara Sidle in an episode to air next month, according to the Web site.
CBS publicist Kate Fisher had no comment Tuesday.
Fox’s run on “CSI” nearly ended in 2004 when she and co-star George Eads were fired during tense contract negotiations. They were later hired back.
“If I thought the show were on its last legs, I would have tried harder to stay the course,” said Fox, whose contract expired in May. “But I feel like it’s going to be around for a while, so if I don’t want some of those dreams to pass me by, I have to get off the ride for a while.”
Fox has been a cast member since “CSI” premiered in 2000.
Horatio Caine: Nice work. Did you consider a transfer to S.W.A.T.? Calleigh Duquesne: I don't look good in all black. Horatio Caine: I beg to differ. |

goodness this is ALL over the place !! every site i visited has this on it.
i'm sure alot of you have heard that CBS is now hitting the legal process to STOP jorja's fans. they are bombarding the two main headquarters with balloons and deflated balloons, wedding cake, butterflies and alot of other stuff. CBS is FINALLY getting smart and is trying to find out who is behind this and file a suit. GOOD FOR THEM.
it's sad when even the actor makes the statement ""my fans scare me.""
oh well.

I know Rosie won't be happy to hear this but I'm gonna miss Jorja when she goes. Not as much as say if it was Eric Szmanda *touch wood* but she's been part of the show for years now and she's part of the CSI family whether people like it or not. Its the one team that I don't want to see broken up, its been such a part of my life *gets emotional*. But I guess you can't control the actors...because if I could then George Eads would never have gotten that moustache...*ahem*.... Well good luck to her all the same.[:D]

eva this should make you happy from TV GUIDE
« Ausiello Report Exclusive: CSI Boss Vows Jorja Fox is "Coming Back" Jorja Fox by Michael Caulfield/WireImage.comNow that Jorja Fox has officially confirmed the worst kept secret in the TV biz — she's ditching CSI next month after seven years in the forensics lab — we can start to focus on more important things in life. Like, you know, her return to the show! In her only interview, CSI's top gun, Carol Mendelsohn, weighs in on the circumstances surrounding Fox's exit, responds to published reports that she considered killing her off, previews tonight's big marriage proposal, and utters the words grieving fans have been dying to hear: Sara Sidle will be back.
Are you bummed that something couldn't be worked out to keep Jorja around? Carol Mendelsohn: I am very bummed. You know, it's been something we've been facing for a while now [so] I've given it a lot of thought. When Jorja expressed her desire to move on — even though I would have loved nothing more than to have had her here for Season 8 and Season 9 and on — you [react] as you would in any family: You love the person and respect them and want them to be happy and fulfilled. If this was the very end for Sara Sidle on CSI, I don't think I could have handled the last few months. But it's not. Jorja was always No. 6 on our call sheet. We're retiring No. 6, so it's there for Jorja when she comes back.
She's definitely returning? Mendelsohn: Yes. You can count on it.
This season? Mendelsohn: That I can't say. But the fans will not have seen the last of Sara Sidle. Nor will Grissom.
Would you describe her departure as a mutual decision? Mendelsohn: No. It was, in the end, Jorja's decision. And we accept it. I think sometimes the fans don't really understand that the writers are fans of the show, too. And we love Sara Sidle. We love writing for Sara Sidle. And, as an actor, it doesn't get better than Jorja. She's phenomenal. So, yeah, it's heartbreaking [for me], as well as for the cast and the crew. I'm almost tearing up now because it's very hard to say goodbye, even if it's [just] goodbye for now.
Did you know she was leaving before you shot the season finale last April? Mendelsohn: Yes. I didn't have a definitive date, but yes.
There were reports that the original plan was to kill her off in the finale, but Jorja refused to show up to work and shoot her death scene. Is that true? Mendelsohn: No… I don't, as a fan or a writer, embrace killing off characters — especially when you see this outpouring that we have gotten from the fans in support of keeping Jorja and Sara on the show; it has just been mind-boggling. [We] owe the fans so much and I don't think killing off Sara Sidle would have ever been a way to pay a satisfactory ending for Sara.
So what kind of send-off are you giving her? Mendelsohn: I’m not telling you. [Laughs]
C'mon. Mendelsohn: As the season unfolds through November, there is a character arc threaded through the episodes for Sara Sidle. And it is something that will build and build and build until the episode in which she departs, sometime in November.
Can you shed any light on the final scene, like who's in it with her? Mendelsohn: Jorja is in it with Jorja.
She's by herself? Mendelsohn: Yes.
What do you make of the intensity of the fan reaction to Jorja's exit? Mendelsohn: It has been astounding. It's incredible how creative our fans are. We got two cases of chocolate covered insects with the message "CSI without Sara bugs us." We got a bouquet of red, pink and white balloons with Hershey kisses and the message was, "Don't break our hearts, keep Jorja Fox on CSI." We got two large cases of Lifesavers with the message, "You were Sara's lifesaver, now be ours, keep Jorja Fox on CSI." They've been sending money in from all over the world [as part of the] Dollars for Sense campaign. One woman named Kim West from Northern Ireland, she and her friends sent in 60 pound notes, and she wrote a four page letter. It's just been overwhelming how many people love Jorja.
Did you go back to her and beg her to reconsider? Mendelsohn: I had done everything that I could. But in the end, I respect Jorja. This is something that she wanted to do, and I would never stand in her way. She's coming back at some point anyway.
How long before Grissom is ready to move on? Mendelsohn: Oh my God. I don't think that Gil Grissom is the kind of guy that moves on quickly. I was thinking about how Gil Grissom thinks about time, and there's an Indian poet, Rabindranath Tagore, who said, "The butterfly counts not months, but moments." I think Grissom thinks about time that way. I wouldn't count on Gil Grissom moving on.
What about a little fling here and there? Mendelsohn: Well, you know, gosh, I don't think of Grissom as a flingy kind of guy. Of course, there is Lady Heather... Grissom's family is the team, and moving forward, you know, that's what Grissom will focus on. His team. His family.
Speaking of Lady Heather, will she be back this season? Mendelsohn: You know what? We haven't really talked about it. [But the door is] always open. We love Melinda Clarke.
What can you tell me about tonight's episode — specifically the marriage proposal? Mendelsohn: It's very CSI-style. David Rambo wrote the scene and he and Jackie Hoyt wrote the episode. We have been talking for months about how to do this. And, originally at the beginning of the season, we had a plan to take Grissom and Sara back to San Francisco, because, as we all know, that's where they first met. And then last week, Grissom found this beehive and it just occurred to us what the scene should be, and I love it. I love it. And again, there are many, many more scenes between them in the last few episodes and they're all terrific.
For more from Mendelsohn — including scoop on which CSI couple will fill the Sara/Grissom void and her hopes (and fears) regarding the looming contract talks with the rest of the cast — come back tomorrow for Part Two of my interview. In the meantime, post your reaction to Part One in the comments section below!
as a guest star ONLY i hope

Last night on the TV GUIDE channel there was a 1/2 hour on BEHIND THE CRIME SCENE with DOC and that Indian director. Doc was FUNNY. Said that both he and DOC have a rock band and that they are going to put that into the show. (yay!!) and his dream epi....Doc and Catherine run away together..."but you are happy married!! Well you never SEE Mary...make her beautiful !! He's a prankser!!
And a man named CRAIG I think who works for TV GUIDE said that he was on site when WILLIAM and ANTOHONY did a photoc copy shoot for the WAT epi. And that the two of those men were like the SUNSHINE BOYS together. 2222 Also of course one of the big stories will be the WARRICK problem and CATHERINE's decideding which side of the fence she wants to be on.
Nick said that he was wondering what they were going to do to him next. Greg was thrilled he was getting more juicy roles/storyies. And Hodges said he HOPED to get a girlfriend.
It was a nice interview ...but too many commericals for a 1/2 program.

CSI Preview: Legendary Film Director's Connection by Megan Walsh-Boyle
Gary Dourdan, CSI Tonight’s CSI (9 pm/ET on CBS) was directed by Oscar-winner William Friedkin, the film legend behind two of the 1970s’ biggest blockbusters — The French Connection and The Exorcist — and the man who also helped launch the career of CSI’s William Petersen by giving him the lead in 1985’s To Live and Die in L.A. "Every year [Petersen] says to me, ‘Why don’t you do a show for me,’ and so I made the time to do it. It was terrific — I really did it for the opportunity to work with Billy again," explains Friedkin.
That said, Petersen’s Gil takes a backseat tonight to Warrick — as the investigator’s job begins to suffer because of his pill addiction. "[Gary Dourdan] is just wonderful in it," says Friedkin. "He touches a lot of very sensitive areas." When asked if directing TV is different than films, Friedkin notes, "not very much… only [that] you have to do things a lot faster."
Having garnered a reputation for pushing the envelope, he does confess, however, that "I got a ton of notes from Standards and Practices. I was surprised, frankly." Did he try to put his stamp on the show? "I wasn’t conscious of trying to do that. It’s a top-rated show…. It’s not broke and they didn’t call me in to fix it."
The episode was written with Friedkin in mind — there’s even a chase scene. That got us thinking: Does he think his famed French car chase has ever been bettered?
"I’ve seen stuff — specifically in those Bourne films — that impresses me tremendously, and because they’re working with a bigger budget and modern technology, they can accomplish more than we were able to."
Watch more of Gil and Warrick in our Online Video Guide.

does this SCREAM at you or what?
« Ausiello Report Blind Item: War Erupts on Hit Show! 071212blinditem.jpg At least one hit show is looking on the bright side of the writers strike: Thanks to the hoopla surrounding the walkout, there's been nary a mention in the press of the firing of a major creative force from a series we love... until now, that is. Wanna guess the identity of the axed exec? Of course you do. Here's a clue: Said bigwig's departure was hardly a surprise — it came after months of backstage tensions and infighting with colleagues that threatened to tear the production apart. Yours truly even bore witness to a rather ugly — and extremely public — incident that only served to make the bad situation worse. By the time of his/her ouster, even the cast had been forced to take sides. (And, given the outcome of the battle, I don't think I have to tell you whose side most of them were on.) However, as difficult as this individual may be, few would contest his/her genius. Guesses?

CSI: Marc Vann Talks About Gil Grissom's Worthy Opponent December 20, 2007
marc vannWhile Gil Grissom (William Petersen) gets along with most of his colleagues, there is one person on CSI who constantly clashes with him. Considered as his chief rival, Conrad Ecklie (Marc Vann) has established a very rocky relationship with Grissom throughout the series. And though conflict is something that exists in any other workplace, the tension in the crime lab has significantly become apparent with Grissom's animosity toward Ecklie, which is also shared by several other members of the night shift group.
On the other hand, there is a reason why Grissom and Ecklie always get on each others' nerves. In an interview with CSI Files, Vann sheds light on his character and the underlying reason behind all the professional jealousy.
Ecklie is a former dayshift supervisor who was promoted to Assistant Director in season 5. Known for his strict adherence to regulations, he is perceived as a vigorous self-promoter whose political skills have prompted favorable comparison over Grissom by superiors, making Grissom occasionally appear like an inefficient investigator. For the most part, the tension between the two comes from their opposing ideologies and work principles. Grissom claims that Ecklie is more concerned with advancement than evidence, while Ecklie maintains that Grissom shows favoritism toward his subordinates.
“Quite simply, Grissom is more respected, and is a better CSI. Ecklie is competitive. So mostly, it's professional jealousy and the fact that Grissom doesn't always do stuff by the book, or the way Ecklie thinks it should be done. In Ecklie's mind that's a formula for eventual disaster. And, Grissom is well liked by his subordinates, which drives Ecklie nuts. That's not a winning formula for good management, in Ecklie's mind,” Vann told CSI Files.
Part of Ecklie's distaste for Grissom also stems from his belief that Grissom is as career-minded as he is. As such, Ecklie often assumes that Grissom's requests for delays or equipment are attempts to sabotage him and does not appear to have qualms about retaliating.
Vann wouldn't want to lose the awkwardness of their relationship, though it would be interesting to see Ecklie and Grissom as good friends. Moving forward on the series, he wants to see his character do something different.
“I would like to see Ecklie do something truly heroic, we think he's changed, and then turn right around and be his old prickly self. Or, to see an opportunity for there to be a shift in the relationship with Grissom or with the team, but Ecklie just ultimately won't go there. That, to me, would be realistic, and tragic, and decidedly human,” he said.
