I have to admit that I am a huge fan of Grissom's position and his quirky ways and his amazing personality, but common all, true fans can't pick just one favorite.

A true fan accepts the whole team as a favorite since one just isn't quite the other without one another.

Can you imagine the show without Nick, Greg and Sara? Would it be the same if somehow Warrick was no longer there? How would it be if Catherine wasn't there anymore, and left to be with her daughter?

Face it, they all make the team, and the team is what brings people back. They all form eachother's character and wouldn't be the same if one of 'em was missing or left.

I see your point. However I can't say there isn't a character that I wouldn't miss a whole lot if they left. I mean it would be different, but the main thing for me is that Grissom does not leave. He is rather like the glue that holds the show together. If he left it would be so much different, the ratings would probably go way down because many people would probably lose interest...
Not saying you are wrong, just saying what I think.

I don't see the point of this thread. Is it to distinguish "true fans" from others? Who's to judge?
Are we going to say next that fans who obssess more and collect all the memorabilia are "truer" than others?
What's the point?

Welcome -- have fun and post often!!!

Now, about your topic -- I personally like the entire cast-without everyone, the show wouldn't be the same, right? However, we have the right to like one or tweo characters a tad bit more than the rest. I am a huge fan of Greg and Sara-I just like their personalities the most, that's all. It's not like I don't like the others, just that I can relate to those characters' distinct personalities (example - Greg and Sara's humor is something I can relate to ). That's all.

I <3 Greg and Sara

Well first welcome griss shadow glad you found this site and hope you enjoy.

Personaly, I would not miss Sara or Nick, sorry they just don't float my boat. For me I don't watch the show for the 'team', but rather the stories and eye candy of Gil & Warrick.

I’m their favorite damn disease.

Welcome. Just because we have a favorite character, doesn't mean we're less fans. I didn't even get into the show for the cast. I saw a great crime drama that told stories that kept me glued to the couch. That's what drew me in, and that's what'll keep me staying.

Welcome Grissoms-Shadow,
I have to agree with Mindy,i started watching the show because of its content,Gris and warwick are just an added bonus, the idea of places like this is not to judge who is a true fan or not but to chat about who you like what you like and most of all to have fun with other like minded people, try the non csi forum, its funny, informative and sometimes moving, but above all Have Fun

welcome...and well i would call myself a fan ...and guess what i could stand to see one or two team members go and i wouldnt miss them ...so in your eyes does that make me less of a fan just because i dont like them all equally..??.. as far as im concerned it doesnt.........and its only my opinion that counts where my own personal taste is invloved ... so is that a clear enough answer for you??? ..i do hope so

gil grissom ? or should i just call you spiderman?

I started to watch because I thought it would be a modern day Quincy. I have always loved him and his shwo so I thought I would give CSI a try. For me I watch because of the forensics and the science. I would be dissappointed if Billy left but do not think I would stop watching. I would not be dissappointed if someone else left though the same as Rosie and Tazz.

I do not think they all make the team and it is not the team that makes me come back. Beleive me... it is the forensics and the science. For you to say that we are not true fans without even knowing us is really not that fair.

Grissom.. you can always say stop.
LH.. so can you

I know you, and I know that in your heart you do not believe I did this.

I started wathcing beacuse I love this type of scenerio-forensics-crime- etc- but stayed because of the incredible camraderie of the cast- and how they interact with one anotherfor instance- i do not watch the spinoffs- because of the cast-oI probably would have bailed along time ago. but the cast-- plus the great stories kept me-and I would not watch it if WP left- he's the one that contiually fascinates-intrigues and interests me- so for me it is about the cast plus-the show

To me it seems quite obvious that the writer's don't see it as the 'whole team' makes the show if they did then why would they have split the original team up? the interaction between Grissom, Catherine, Nick, Warrick and Sara has been changed by the split in the shift's...so if a person watches the show for the ensemble cast they are now out of luck. I like the science of the show but I still have my favorite characters and that would be Grissom and Catherine and I will watch the show till they are both no longer a part of CSI. I can and do watch the Discovery Channel for the true science of Forensic's... I watch CSI for entertainment purposes.

Oh and welcome to theforum grissoms_shadow.

P.S. I just found this forum few days ago, I have not experience with forums but i'm trying! But above all I apologize for my "not fluent" english , for me it isn't easy to read and understand but it's harder to translate my thoughts into an intelligible english !

Okay, I agree that it is unfair to determine who is and who is not a "true" fan. Reason being, because there is no such thing. It is simply a phrase that is used. And no one person has the right to determine the meaning of it. Also, I don't even like the word fan (short for fanatic). That is not what I feel that I am (a fanatic). I am an admirer of the show and all its many aspects.

I began watching the show because of the subject content and the fact that I had followed both William Petersen and Marg Helgenberger through the years. So, I guess I'll have to admit that I watch the show for both the content and the actors/scriptctresses.

The crime and forensic taste of the show is somewhat informative but more than that, to me, it's entertainment. Entertainment because it's only a TV show, and not reality!! So therefore, entertainment is a major reason for me viewing each and every week.

Secondly, the cast, this is another major reason for me to watch each week. I have found that I really like all the characters down all the way to Hodges and Ecklie. Each character is unique and you may just absolutely love some of them and dislike others or you might have one that you just love to hate. This is a very important part to every story. And CSI has done well with it.

Now, if any one of those two reasons for watching the show were comprimised I will most likely discontinue watching. Although I can't say for sure this is how I will respond, if and/or when something might happen, but I can honestly say that if they were to change its original formula that has grown over the years or let go any of the cast (original characters) I would be very disappointed and even upset, so much that I would most undoubtedly stop tuning in each week. This is just the way I believe that I would respond. So, there you have it, I'm stubborn, I guess (oh and a bit hardheaded, too).
